tajmotel1 CRUNK!!! Music Taj Motel TrioFor the throngs of fans who follow the happenings of the underground East Coast ska scene, The Taj Motel Trio is a celebrated fixture, drawing formidable crowds at every venue they grace.

The core of this eight-piece musical powerhouse is a rock-solid rhythm section; rounding out the sound, the unforgettable brass section blasts dance-along melodies and hooks you can’t help singing in the shower.

The Taj Motel Trio, (or Taj, as they’ve been affectionately dubbed by their fans) have truly paid their dues, and have earned the success they’re experiencing. In 2002, the group performed at the VANS Warped Tour in Atlanta, after being selected by Ernie Ball for their stand-out sound and undeniable charisma. These same characteristics earned them a spot opening for Bon Jovi on the 2006 Have a Nice Day Tour. They secured this opportunity by impressing Atlanta’s Star94 listeners in a radio competition, establishing themselves as the final winners from among dozens of other accomplished bands from the Southeast.

In addition to these distinguished accomplishments, Taj has performed hundreds of shows, rocking venues from the famed CBGB’s in New York to the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta, and just about every bar, hall, and dive in between.

Having performed at Knoxville, Tennessee’s annual Ska Weekend Festival since its inaugural show in 2003, as well as having toured the East Coast thoroughly and repeatedly, Taj has begun to establish an impressive and fanatically-loyal fan base. But devoted fans aren’t the only ones who have taken notice. Brandon Allin, of absolutepunk.net highly acclaimed Taj’s 3rd album, Life of the Party, saying, “Life of the Party is fast, fun, and contains more memorable moments than any listener could ask for.” Based on their past accomplishments, hard work, and solid reputation, these Southern boys are on their way up the ladder. Taj released their 4th album, Part of the Problem, in December 2007.
